The Cyber Law Enforcement Organization is a network of law enforcement officers, who specialize in cybercrime investigation, training other law enforcement officers and who assist cybercrime victims online. Their tipline handles child pornography, cyberstalking and missing children tips, as well as tips for cyberscams and fraud online. The Cyber Law Enforcement Organization also includes the Legal Eagles group of prosecutors, defense counsel and legal experts in the field of cybercrime, to help educate and guide the Internet community on crime prevention and reporting of cybercrimes.
A message from Melissa Straub
My name is Melissa Straub and I am the new Program Director for the Cyber Law Enforcement Organization within WiredSafety.org. I am excited to assist the organization in taking this established program to the next level and introduce many new enhancements. One of the most exciting offerings is the creation of the Stop Cyber bullying Toolkit that Parry and her team has recently developed and introduced. It offers a one stop shop of resources relating to cyber bullying, sexting and other subsequent internet safety issues. The toolkit provides the educator, law enforcement officers, school resource officers, school guidance counselors and administrators, parents and individuals with current and invaluable educational information. Furthermore, it provides interactive games, educational tools and detailed reporting on current laws and polices all in one location eliminating the need to seek different resources.
As the new Director I am committed to the development of exciting and relative training to assist with our mission of combating cybercrime within the law enforcement community. The training will now be offered in a distance learning environment and will be consistently updated based on new information, techniques and tools that are current and relative.
In addition, we will be welcoming the participation in an monthly newsletter for members only to share stories, tips and exiting new tools. We will increase our member's only communication to increase knowledge sharing and promote the use of various utilities.
